Friends, family and fellow Malagasy
There comes a moment in the life of a nation when silence is no longer an option. When a whisper must become a cry, and a cry must become a chorus. That moment is now.
For too long, we have spoken in hushed tones. For years, our voices were stifled—by fear, by repression, by the shadow of the “gagazo.” But that chapter is closing. Since the 25th of September, we are slowly taking our power back, thanks to the call of Alban Rakotoarisoa and Clémence Raharinirina. Now, we find our voice.
To the brave souls standing on the front lines, who feel the sun and the tension on their skin, we see you. Your courage is the heartbeat of this movement. And from behind our screens, a digital army marches with you. We are the relays, the truth-tellers, working tirelessly to show the world the real Madagascar. Your fight is our fight.
They told us we were poor. They made us believe we were lacking. But that is their greatest lie. We are not poor. We have never been poor. Not only that, but we are a people of immense wealth in spirit, in culture, in resources. We have been diminished. We have been impoverished by a system that treats our dearest island as a private game board for the powerful few.
Andry Nirina Rajoelina and Maminiaina Ravatomanga have played with our homeland as if it were theirs alone. They have sold our future and gambled with our children’s lives. To them, politics is a tool for profit, democracy is a slogan and freedom is a word to be written and then erased.
But no more. (Ampy izay, Aok’izay).
They have their escape routes. Their foreign accounts and second passports. They can leave and continue their lives elsewhere. But we cannot. Our roots are here. Our ancestors are here. Our very souls are woven into this red earth.
Since when did a light in our homes become a luxury? Since when did clean water, a doctor’s care, or a child’s education become privileges for the few? These are not favors to be granted; they are our birthright! And the loss of our dignity ends now.
So it falls to us, to you and to me, to stand firm. We protest not for chaos, but for our loved ones. We fight not with violence, but with unwavering resolve. Furthermore, we stand for the future generation, so they may inherit the Madagascar we know is possible.
For years, corruption has festered, poisoning the beauty of our land. Now, we begin the great purge. Not elimination of people, but of this sickness. We will restore the true meaning of our society: one of community, of dignity and of fihavanana.
So let the message ring out from every town, every village, and every digital space: The fight is not over. We are here, standing firm with you.
This is not a struggle of the old against the young. This is not about which generation leads. This is the voice of all the Malagasy people saying: « Enough is enough. »
This is for Madagascar.
Madagasikara tanindrazantsika.
Mijoroa ho an’ny Tanindrazana!
